A Hardware Review

Member of the Sarasota Personal Computer Users Group, Inc.With the holiday season of gift-giving right around the corner you may be wondering about the perfect gift for your favorite computer enthusiast, or even yourself if the description applies. If you have any doubts, here's my recommendation to you. Don't even hesitate. Go out and get yourself the Logitech cordless mouse/keyboard combo LX 300. There are a lot of good reasons for my suggestion.
If you have not yet experienced working with these cordless devices, you are in for a whole new and very different world than the present corded variety. Like Pinocchio who had "no strings to hold him down," you can eliminate all the inconvenience associated with a cord. It's that cord like annoyingly restricts the movement, comfort and convenience of your mouse and keyboard not to mention the clutter the wires create on your desk. These cordless items communicate with your computer via Fast RF technology. A small receive/send unit attaches to your computer in a USB slot offering extreme flexibility to where and how you place your mouse and keyboard.
As you would expect, the mouse is of optical design eliminating the old inaccurate, dirt-gathering ball. It offers several programmable buttons for each device which you can easily program with the provided Logitech software to perform your favorite functions. Scrolling is fast and easy and movement of the mouse via the glide feet on its base is extremely smooth as is the movement of your cursor.
The shape of the mouse is very comfortable for use by either right or left handers. The ergonomics of both the mouse and keyboard with its low profile zero-tilt design offers not only comfort, but carpal tunnel syndrome prevention as well.

Control functions are incorporated into the keyboard that provide easy control of your multimedia operations. Separate buttons offer quick common internet movements. The full range of keys are conveniently marked and the keyboard feel is excellent with comfortable and positive 'wiggle-free" key control. A range of programmable F-keys give great flexibility.
Power is provided to both mouse and keyboard by 2 AA batteries each which will last for many months before requiring replacement. A convenient notice will come up on your desktop screen when you batteries are getting low.
Installation of the devices is controlled by Logitech software on a provided CD. Programming the various mouse and keyboard functions is quick, effortless and completely intuitive for even the most inexperienced novice.
If all these wonderful features of the LX 300 Duo weren?t enough, the clincher is the sensationally low street price of just under $50. It?s one of the very best and practical bargains for the computerist available today! www.logitech.com :
